WordPress Theme Search Question: What WordPress Theme Is That?
Have you ever come across by chance a Website that looks like it was created from the WordPress Platform but you really loved the Appearance of it all? Have you even wondered about the question: What WordPress Theme Is That?
Well, let me tell you that there are a couple of Websites that can help you know the Theme Name and Plugin details too.
Let’s head on over to http://whatwpthemeisthat.com/
The Website should look like the Following.
What WordPress Theme Is That is a Free Online Tool that allows you to easily detect what WordPress Theme a Website is using (this includes the Parent and Child Themes). As an additional feature, it will also detect what WordPress Plugins are being used on that Website also. However, it may not always enlist all the Plugins a Website uses, it will give highlights on the main important ones that encapsulate the Website overall.
Step #1: Type in the URL or Website Name in the White Text Box.
Just for curiosity sake, I will try out mine here, you may choose to try out yours here as a 1st Example to know how the information is displayed for your Website.
Or, the other option is enter in the Website which make you curious on finding out which Theme they are using there.
Step #2: Hit Enter or Click on the Green Magnifying Glass.
Step #3: Just wait a few moments and you will see the Results showing up below like this.
Simply Scroll Down and read on how accurate the Findings have appeared to be.
The First Half you should see are basically your Theme Details.
The Second Half you should start to see are the Detected WordPress Plugins.
Surprisingly, I don’t just use 2 Plugins overall for my Website, I use a Total of 11.
There are 9 more Plugins that are worth mentioning here according to the data results here, but even then there is no need for panic.
So, like myself if you don’t see all your WordPress Plugins being mentioned here as you thought they would, it is quite normal that there is nothing to fear if that part of the data results is not being shown.
I suppose there are just some things that are best worth being kept hidden and out of the public eye, right? 😉
Step #4: You can Click on More Info to get more details on all you need to know about these particular Plugins.
As you Click on More Info, a New Tab would Open up and you will be taken to the WordPress Plugins Information Posts on how the Plugins work, the Description, when it was Last Updated, Reviews, FAQs, etc.
Step #5: You can also Click on the Search Again Button on the bottom to conduct a new search on other Websites and their Theme/Dectected WordPress Plugins information too.
Let’s proceed to looking at 2 more Examples of Different Scenarios you may encounter.
That Number 4 Thrive Visual Editor Description says No plugin details for Thrive Visual Editor available.
As you Click on Search, a New Tab opens up and you will need to do a bit of digging around researching what this is.
As you can see, this is pretty elaborate with the data that has been found. I believe this was done very well. It has highlighted the most prominent Plugins that are being utilized on this particular Website.
Although the WebMaster might have more than the ones simply listed here, this gives a brilliant basic view of what is included on their Website generally speaking.
We were given the Data found Description saying: WordPress detected, but the specific theme details could not be determined. It is probably using a customized or proprietary theme.
Again, no need for alarm over this, this is still quite an ordinary normal find. It happens sometimes on several Websites but not all as you snoop around trying to get the Theme Details on a particular Website of your own self interest.
Still, it was quite nice to see that at least 1 Plugin showed as being Detected on that Website in particular.
Here’s Another Option You Can Try Out!
Another great alternative Website you may want to Bookmark on your Internet Browser would be:
The Website Page will look like this.
Alright, let’s try a completely different Website now.
Click on Submit at the Bottom.
Here’s the Results that came up.
As you Click on the Click here for More Info, you will then be directed in a New Tab on your Browser to the actual WordPress Website Page highlighting the Key Details on the Plugin for you.
You can also Click on Try New URL to try a different Website you are interested on investigating what the Theme is along with what Plugins could possibly be present there.
Here’s Something Else You Can Try and See For Yourself! 😀
The Website should look like the Following.
Please Ignore this Message. 🙂 It is so annoying. Clicking on the X to the Right doesn’t help either.
Here’s an Example of a Website I visit for Dog Training and other Tips.
Simply Click on the Green Button that says Go!
Here’s what Pulled Up as the Results. 🙂
And as usual if you are curious to learning more about the Plugin of Interest, you can Click on the More Info Blue Button as well.
In order to select a Theme to use on your Website, consider these things:
#1 Is it mobile friendly? Many people use their smartphones to access your Website Content, right?
#2 Is it responsive? Does it look clean and more user-friendly?
#3 Is the text at a good size to be read by any visitor that comes to your Website?
#4 Does the Theme slow down the site speed or is it a fast one?
#5 Does it allow for Header Images for you to Upload a Logo?
#6 Are there Footer Widgets and a Sidebar included?
#7 Is it easily customized to suit your needs?
I honestly can hope that I explained all you needed to know on how to use this Website well enough to know what to expect when researching the Theme and Detected WordPress Plugins of interest from a Website that appeals to you. 🙂
