What WordPress Theme Is That – WordPress Theme Search

WordPress Theme Search Question: What WordPress Theme Is That?

Have you ever come across by chance a Website that looks like it was created from the WordPress Platform but you really loved the Appearance of it all? Have you even wondered about the question: What WordPress Theme Is That?

Well, let me tell you that there are a couple of Websites that can help you know the Theme Name and Plugin details too.

Let’s head on over to http://whatwpthemeisthat.com/

The Website should look like the Following.

What WordPress Theme Is That

What WordPress Theme Is That is a Free Online Tool that allows you to easily detect what WordPress Theme a Website is using (this includes the Parent and Child Themes). As an additional feature, it will also detect what WordPress Plugins are being used on that Website also. However, it may not always enlist all the Plugins a Website uses, it will give highlights on the main important ones that encapsulate the Website overall.

Step #1: Type in the URL or Website Name in the White Text Box.

Enter URL or domain to search

Just for curiosity sake, I will try out mine here, you may choose to try out yours here as a 1st Example to know how the information is displayed for your Website.

Or, the other option is enter in the Website which make you curious on finding out which Theme they are using there.

What WordPress Theme Is My Own Website Using

Step #2: Hit Enter or Click on the Green Magnifying Glass.

Click On Green Magnifying Search Glass

Step #3: Just wait a few moments and you will see the Results showing up below like this.

Simply Scroll Down and read on how accurate the Findings have appeared to be.

The First Half you should see are basically your Theme Details.

My Website Theme Details Part 1My Website Theme Details Part 2

The Second Half you should start to see are the Detected WordPress Plugins.

Surprisingly, I don’t just use 2 Plugins overall for my Website, I use a Total of 11.

There are 9 more Plugins that are worth mentioning here according to the data results here, but even then there is no need for panic.

So, like myself if you don’t see all your WordPress Plugins being mentioned here as you thought they would, it is quite normal that there is nothing to fear if that part of the data results is not being shown.

I suppose there are just some things that are best worth being kept hidden and out of the public eye, right? 😉

My Website Theme Detected WordPress Plugins

Step #4: You can Click on More Info to get more details on all you need to know about these particular Plugins.

More Info On Detected WordPress Plugins

As you Click on More Info, a New Tab would Open up and you will be taken to the WordPress Plugins Information Posts on how the Plugins work, the Description, when it was Last Updated, Reviews, FAQs, etc.

Step #5: You can also Click on the Search Again Button on the bottom to conduct a new search on other Websites and their Theme/Dectected WordPress Plugins information too.

Let’s proceed to looking at 2 more Examples of Different Scenarios you may encounter.

Example 1

One More Cup Of-Coffee Theme Details Part 1One More Cup Of-Coffee Theme Details Part 2One More Cup Of-Coffee Theme Details Part 3One More Cup Of-Coffee Theme Details Part 4One More Cup Of-Coffee Detected WordPress Plugins Part 1

Please Note in Blue

That Number 4 Thrive Visual Editor Description says No plugin details for Thrive Visual Editor available.

As you Click on Search, a New Tab opens up and you will need to do a bit of digging around researching what this is.

One More Cup Of-Coffee Detected WordPress Plugins Part 2

As you can see, this is pretty elaborate with the data that has been found. I believe this was done very well. It has highlighted the most prominent Plugins that are being utilized on this particular Website.

Although the WebMaster might have more than the ones simply listed here, this gives a brilliant basic view of what is included on their Website generally speaking.

Example 2

Earn Money With Marcus Theme Results and Detected WordPress Plugins

We were given the Data found Description saying: WordPress detected, but the specific theme details could not be determined. It is probably using a customized or proprietary theme.

Again, no need for alarm over this, this is still quite an ordinary normal find. It happens sometimes on several Websites but not all as you snoop around trying to get the Theme Details on a particular Website of your own self interest.

Still, it was quite nice to see that at least 1 Plugin showed as being Detected on that Website in particular.

Here’s Another Option You Can Try Out!

Another great alternative Website you may want to Bookmark on your Internet Browser would be:

http://theseotools.net/wp-theme-detector

The Website Page will look like this.

The SEO Tools WP Theme Detector Website Home Page

Alright, let’s try a completely different Website now.

Click on Submit at the Bottom.

The SEO Tools WP Theme Detector Bark and Swagger

Here’s the Results that came up.

Detected WordPress Plugins for Bark and Swagger Website Part 1

As you Click on the Click here for More Info, you will then be directed in a New Tab on your Browser to the actual WordPress Website Page highlighting the Key Details on the Plugin for you.

You can also Click on Try New URL to try a different Website you are interested on investigating what the Theme is along with what Plugins could possibly be present there.

Here’s Something Else You Can Try and See For Yourself! 😀

Go to http://www.wpthemedetective.com/

The Website should look like the Following.

WPThemeDetective Home Page

Please Ignore this Message. 🙂 It is so annoying. Clicking on the X to the Right doesn’t help either.

Here’s an Example of a Website I visit for Dog Training and other Tips.

Simply Click on the Green Button that says Go!

Here’s what Pulled Up as the Results. 🙂

And as usual if you are curious to learning more about the Plugin of Interest, you can Click on the More Info Blue Button as well.

Please Note in Blue

In order to select a Theme to use on your Website, consider these things:

#1 Is it mobile friendly? Many people use their smartphones to access your Website Content, right?

#2 Is it responsive? Does it look clean and more user-friendly?

#3 Is the text at a good size to be read by any visitor that comes to your Website?

#4 Does the Theme slow down the site speed or is it a fast one?

#5 Does it allow for Header Images for you to Upload a Logo?

#6 Are there Footer Widgets and a Sidebar included?

#7 Is it easily customized to suit your needs?

I honestly can hope that I explained all you needed to know on how to use this Website well enough to know what to expect when researching the Theme and Detected WordPress Plugins of interest from a Website that appeals to you. 🙂

And if by chance you thought it quite useful, I am happy for you as you use this Website to aid in exploration and investigation on knowing a thing or two about Website Themes/Detected WordPress Plugins. 🙂

Wow this is actually going to come in very handy. I have seen a handful of sites and have wondered what the theme was. Sometimes you can see it at the bottom of the page, but not always. So I’m happy to know there is a way to actually find this out. I should have assumed there was something out there.

Yes, usually the WordPress Theme would be listed at the Footer part of a WordPress Website but sometimes the WebMaster has edited that part out and replaced it with the words Copyright. All Rights Reserved and the year in most cases.

However, it is thanks to several Websites like these that were made in aiding with determining what WordPress Theme a Website may be using. As an added Bonus, you also see the Plugins that are running on that Website as well.

Thanks for a great article. It is so helpful in giving us the information to find that ‘perfect’ theme we want for our WP website. It is often overwhelming and frustrating trying to locate the site you need or have seen somewhere. Thanks for the 3 website options you have given us to use to find the theme.

Your examples and instructions are also thorough and helpful – well done.

Do you know if there is the ability to describe what you are looking for in a theme and then let the software give you a few suggestions?

Just to say also that your website is full of a lot of very helpful information for the online marketer.

Yes, indeed you explained it very well. Sometimes I see a theme that I really like. I tend to go to the bottom of the website to see if it’s listed there. I had no idea that there was a tool to find out which theme a webmaster is using. If it’s not listed at the bottom of the site, now I know how to find out. Thanks for the info.

      Dear Evie,

Thanks for your Feedback. 🙂 I usually do the same thing that you do by going to the bottom of the Website to find out if the Theme Name is being mentioned there. In most cases I found that it doesn’t since the WebMaster must have edited it out and placed something else to make it look more professional. 🙂

Welcome. No problem, glad to be of help. 🙂

Useful article, and I am sure your visitors will share this opinion. I myself have this tool bookmarked and I use it to check theme which are appealing to me. As you said it gives the list of plugins used. But you write that the list may not always be complete, I did not know this.

I would like to stress that this is not the only site on the Internet with this purpose. I am using one more with similar features, but I am not supposed to add urls in such comments.

      Dear Jovo,

Thanks for your Feedback. 🙂 Yes, based on my own Trial by Error Experiment testings, I have inputted Website URLs and got Results back from this Free Tool showing that it couldn’t tell me the name of the WP Theme and or give me a full rundown list of Plugins enabled on that Website alone.

Yes, thank you for that. The other one I have run across which seems to work just as simple to this Free Tool is the one found at http://www.wpthemedetector.com/
