Rosemary Herb Helps Improve Memory

Rosemary Herb Helps Improve Memory

Rosemary Herb Helps Improve Memory

When I was searching for something to help jog my memory, I did some research and found that the Rosemary Herb can help improve your brain’s memory by about 75% just from smelling it. As it is called a perennial, that means that it can come back year after year unlike annual plants.

I do wish other people knew of this since America is said to be the #1 Nation to promote Mental Health Awareness all the time.

I did visit with the elderly folk in nursing homes and senior living areas and saw that they had dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimers, and a case of schizophrenia. I really felt awful for them on the inside, because preserving one’s memory powers is something I always pursued. Some of them were complaining on why they needed to do Physical Therapy and had to be on meds, they were hoping their other family members would come and visit them every now and then also.

I remember coming to an elderly woman while she lay in bed at a place I volunteered years before at Alden Estates of Orland Park. The lady was said to NOT have opened her eyes in 12 years. When I simply looked at her with concern, suddenly she slowly opened her eyes and was trying to verbalize something. The lady I volunteered with was amazed by this somehow. Me, I was just waiting for a miracle to happen as I am just a little angel with invisible wings. One thing I will certainly NEVER do is put my parents in a nursing home when they age, they worked hard to give me the best of what life had to offer me always back then and now, so I will have to do my due diligence to be the daughter that pays-it-forward by taking care of them myself just at home.

So if by chance you seem a bit forgetful, stop by some Greenhouse, Garden, or Nursery and take a sniff of Rosemary to regain a priceless precious moment back and relive life anew once more with a more positive attitude to set a side time to do the things that you have harbored to do for what feels like decades gone by.

Another time while shopping at a neighbor’s Garage Sale, we saw his back yard vegetables. Then it struck my mom and I to tell him to plant Rosemary and sniff it to improve his memory as he was getting older. He misunderstood us and said Ah yes, Rose Memory. I simply just shook my head in disbelief, at least I tried was all I could say in my mind.

However, the most puzzling thing I have yet to find out is if you eat the rosemary herb, does it also have the same 75% success rate as when you smell it to regain your brain’s memory power also. Have yet to try that and see if the results are the same or very different.

A good film I watched aboard a plane was Lucy. I believe the film’s motive was to answer the big question: How much can we know about our lives versus those of others. In a sense can we have the ability to foresee what can happen to a person we love before they are gone from the face of the Earth. Remember, there is the TV Shows I Love Lucy, Lucy from Charlie Brown, and Lucy was on display in a museum before also as being an ancestor or so of humankind, then there is Lucy Liu from Charlie’s Angels as well.

How amazing, I never knew that rosemary could help the memory so much. I have the herb fairly regularly and it grows in abundance in my mum’s garden so it’s inspired me to have it even more now!

That’s incredible about the lady in the nursing home too. Thanks for the interesting information.

When I researched into the plant called rosemary, I was stunned. I suppose this plant can help many people who may not want to consume pills or drugs just to get by in life. 🙂

I will have to give Rosemary Herb a try, the next time I’m out shopping. That is, if I can remember to do that. 🙂

Hey Angel, I always believed in the power of herbs and their many benefits, did not know Rosemary had this particular effect. I’m not a big fan on medications either. This got me very curious and I will definitely give this a try next time I’m in a greenhouse, thanks for this.

      Dear Victor,

Thanks for your Feedback, I really appreciate it. 🙂 Well when I was a little girl I didn’t understand why my mom liked flowers and plants so much. But, as I grew older she was then telling me the benefits of why she always wanted to have a garden. When I fell off my scooter on the sidewalk one time, I was afraid to face my dad when I had a scarred face, he then told me to break off a piece of aloe vera and apply it on my face until the scar went away. Later on I switched over to using Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash cream from Wal-Mart to deal with my acne/pimples.

And over the years as I was doing research, I ran across Rosemary having the power to restore one’s brain memory. I researched into this topic because I was curious about it and wanted to see if it worked for myself and it did. I was able to concentrate on my studies and finish college with a Bachelorette Degree in Psychology.

I sure do hope you enjoy using Rosemary as much as I did. 😀

YES what a good page! I will never let anyone in my family end up in a nursing home! We’re always supposed to take care of our family members! Especially our parents. So many people just see the elderly as “inconvenient” How sad. As for rosemary, that is fascinating. I love natural healing. I believe God gave us food and herbs to protect and heal our bodies. I’m seriously going to start growing Rosemary now that I know this. I need some help with my memory ever since I got pregnant with my daughter. Pregnancy brain is so real! Funny since you really need your wits about it when having a child!

      Dear Madelaine,

Thank you so much for your Feedback, I really appreciate it. 🙂 When you have been in the Psych Ward as long as I have, there are some things I wish I never saw, like the amount of meds the elderly were on in the nursing homes. Right then and there I imagined that happening to my parents and I wouldn’t forgive myself if their health fails and I wasn’t there to take care of them at home.

Some elderly people are so down to earth, energetic, and still have a good heart inside them. The way they smile and just talk with me just about warms my heart from top to bottom. 🙂 Besides I respect them because they have some really amazing stories to tell also. 😀

I used to be on various meds before that sometimes made me stiff in walking or I couldn’t remember how to find a way to finish homework in a way the profs wanted, I had to teach myself how NOT to plagiarize and such too, cause that can get anyone expelled from college too.

As far as natural healing goes, I am all up for that. 😀

It is so nice to hear that you are a believer in God also. 🙂

My mother who is a nurse sometimes is forgetful when doing things so I try my best to have a moment or too for myself and then figure out how best to help keep her memory power active to work at home and at hospitals.

Please tell your baby girl I said hi. 😀

I adopted children in Spanish speaking countries because I believed my body probably couldn’t stand the pain of bearing my own if I got married. I am a bit scared of operations.

I sure do hope that you growing Rosemary will help you attain more memory power to help take care of your daughter too. 🙂

Another fascinating thing I found out was that if you had Lavender, it can ward off mosquitoes also if you are living in hot humid countries. 🙂

I personally haven’t used Rosemary before, but I am very forgetful, so I think this would be a great for me. I had no idea Rosemary could have an impact on so many things. I hate taking medication, I prefer to use herbal remedies – I just think they work a lot better for me.

      Dear Lauren,

Thank you for your Feedback, I really appreciate it. 🙂 As I am a Psychology Student, I always wanted to figure ways to improve my brain’s memory so I can teach and do loads of other things all at once if need be.

Yeah, certain meds do have their own downfall too due to the side effects also. Homeopathy Medicine on the other hand is said to NOT have any side effects though and is more effective.

Well, whatever works great for you, I am happy. 🙂 And I hope you do retain enough memory power to NOT be so forgetful either. 😀
