Please Note in Blue

Please know that the chances to get a job in the real world with good pay is slim to none. Having a Website in place in seconds and applying to dozens of affiliate programs will put you in a better position of being accepted to work for those Companies by promoting their products rather than go here and there with a face-to-face interview and endure rejection because of certain demographics they consider.

Just think for a brief moment, machines are taking over humankind’s jobs all over the world right? So, why not do something worthwhile and make your passion your paycheck with website building?

Just as there are many Colleges and Universities out there that are available before you and cater to a wide range of Major/Minor Fields of study for the career you want to pursue, the same can be applied to that of Affiliate Marketing also. So, let’s start with the Basics.

What is an Affiliate?

An Affiliate is a person who promotes a product that they don’t own. They are part of a program who try to help others get the most of the program they are a part of or the products they recommend.

Okay, what exactly is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is where you act as an Online Agent for companies such as Target, Wal Mart, Best Buy, or other Programs online where you would be promoting products you do not necessarily own but recommend to your audience. In other words you are like a Publisher just getting the word out about a product in a review you wrote on your Website. You then earn a commission based on if the consumer buys the product through you, provided you had a picture of the product with your Affiliate Link attached to it.

What is an Affiliate Program?

An Affiliate Program is an automatic electronic program which involves a Website Advertiser and recruited Website Creators. The Website Creators are known as affiliates. They place the Affiliate Program Company’s advertisements on their own Websites. These ads to these Affiliate Programs are joined with the Company’s Websites and are known as Affiliate Links.

What is an Affiliate Marketing Network?

A Web Service where Advertisers and Publishers are under one roof. This is like a directory that gives you access to loads of Affiliate Programs you can apply for, get approved for, and promote their products on your Website.

Alright, let’s break that down into simpler steps.

  1. Search for a product you wish to promote.
  2. Sign up for the company’s affiliate program.
  3. Get your affiliate link and promote it on your website.
  4. When someone buys the product through your link – You Get Paid!!
  5. Sounds simple enough, doesn’t it?

Here’s a Video about What is Affiliate Marketing and How FlexOffers is an easy Affiliate Networking Company to be a part of and promote products of their Advertisers on your Website.

Seems too good to be true and easy to do, right?

How about we illustrate the whole process rundown now:

Suppose I want to promote Kaspersky Lab Anti-Virus Software on my Website about Technology and Software Products.

I would first go over to their Website http://usa.kaspersky.com/

Scroll Down and Click on Affiliate Partners.

Kaspersky Lab Home Page Click on Affiliate Partners

Here’s the Following Screen.

This outlines exactly what I mentioned before.

Kaspersky Lab Affiliate Partnerships

Digital River OneNetworkDirect and Commission Junction are what I would call as Legit Affiliate Program Directories much in the same way as FlexOffers is.

These places give you more exposure to what the Affiliate Program is, their Website, their Payout, and the Terms/Conditions required of your Website to be considered for acceptance of promoting their products on your Website.

You would need to Sign Up with one or the other or in some cases if a Affiliate Program doesn’t seem to have the one you want available in one Affiliate Program Directory, you can try your chances with Signing Up to Create an Account with the other Affiliate Program Directory also.

In other words what maybe in Digital River OneNetworkDirect may not be available in Commission Junction for example.

So, you may want to have set up an Account with both just in case.

FAQs Brainstorming Thoughts and Getting Ideas

You might be pondering, hmm, there are so many products out there, how will I ever choose the one that I know for a fact will be most profitable and good to recommend to my Website Visitors?

Well, key thing you could be considering is, how about I promote products I use and have seen the results to speak for themselves in a Product Review based on my own personal experiences with it?

That is one direction you may want to go into.

Another could be writing a Product Review based on products even you did not own or use. However, please be careful with this, and do a thorough research on it, look up as much info as needed. What are the majority of the people saying about this online, is the Product awful or absolutely great? A must-have maybe?

Just because a Product may give a good commission earning payout does not necessarily mean that you should go after it and have it on your Website.

Please Note in Blue

You wouldn’t want to be promoting a Product that is a Scam, would you?

In order to be successful in Affiliate Marketing, it requires you to be upfront and honest with your Audience on what you are promoting, list out all the Truth and Specific Details about the Product.

Never leave room for misleading info just because you want to make a Commission from the Product you are promoting. You might lose potential Customers and loyal Audience Members that way to your Website.

Okay Angel, what are the Steps to Affiliate Marketing?

1) Do Something YOU Love, Not Something YOU Have No Passion For.

Music Love Notes

Ask yourself the question: What are you most passionate about. If you are doing something that love, it brings more satisfaction versus doing something you see yourself hating in the long run.

When you have found out your true passion, that will be your Niche, which is simply a Topic of Interest targeted for a specific Audience. It can be about literally anything you can imagine. Examples are music, fitness, weight loss, acne products, plants, dog training, etc. I think you got the idea here.

Keep in mind that Potential Customers would share mutual feelings of passion towards your promoted Product based on the information you provide to them within your Blog Post Content writing. So, be sure to keep everything in check, be honest, genuine, and above all real.

In order to take part in Affiliate Marketing and promoting a product, you would need a Website in place.

Because that will be serving as the building block of your promoted product on your Website.

If you don’t have a Website, no need to worry, I got you covered. Just go to this Link and you will be well on your way to Create your Website Easy and Fast.

2) Search and Look for Eligible Products.

Detective Look and Search

There are so many different ways in which people use the Internet.

Most of which is Searching, Watching, Buying, or Selling something.

Use Google to Search for a Particular Topic of Interest you have. Go through the various Search Result Website Links that appear. This will allow you get some influence on how to target your potential customers by seeing what the other person on their Website is doing.

But, please don’t beat yourself up and be quick to judge someone else’s level of success based on what they accomplished which you couldn’t. As always do your own research first, it is very necessary. By doing your research, you are not only doing a favor for yourself but for your Audience as well based on your efforts alone, you are helping putting a sense of value for your Customers. By doing so, whatever action you take will not be in vain.

Be sure you are confident and especially comfortable recommending a Product so that way you don’t ruin your reputation. Try to get a Follow-Up list of your Potential Customers as this is another key important thing to consider as an Affiliate.

There is a great tool you can use, it’s called Jaaxy and it helps you analyze the Affiliate Programs you want to promote products from. It also allows you to monitor the Search Volume, Traffic Volume, and Keyword Research in an updated fashion.

3) Begin YOUR Affiliate Marketing Journey with FlexOffers or other Affiliate Marketing Network Companies/Programs.

The quickest way to discovering profitable Products to promote is going through an Affiliate Marketing Network like FlexOffers. You can easily find Products here that fit almost any niche imaginable.

Here are a few Tips on How to Decide if a Product is right for you to Promote in FlexOffers

#1: Avoid Products that have a Cookie Duration Period of just 7-Days time. Try to find something that has a much longer Cookie Duration Period. Several Weeks to about 1 Month or 2 is pretty ideal. Some go as far as 90-Day Cookie Duration Period.

#2: Find a Product that is not very expensive or too cheap to Promote but that it has a Commission Rate of over 15%

#3: Do the research thoroughly on finding Products that are beneficial and serve its purpose well to your Audience.

4) YOU will earn the money.

Endless Rain of Money Falling

When a Visitor clicks on a product link or an affiliate link you have for a Program and buys it, you get paid a certain percent of commission. Depending on the Affiliate Program you are partnered with, their standards for paying you would vary.

Sometimes they can give you options like paying you through:

  • Paypal
  • Payza
  • Check
  • Direct Deposit
  • Etc.

Just A Moment Please

You most certainly must be thinking:

This is a very informative and thorough post on Affiliate Marketing. It’s a really good break down for newbies who may not have a clue about how it all works.

It’s clear to see that you are very skilled due to your ties with Wealthy Affiliate. I like to refer to it as the W.A. University (lol)…As I consider myself a student growing in knowledge there now. You are on point about the value of education and how it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Before Wealthy Affiliate, I didn’t know much at all about the technical stuff, now I have acquired a skill to build any online marketing venture or business. I can also use my skill to teach others, pretty much what you’ve indicated.

Just a couple of questions…I’d love to hear your personal opinion. What do you feel will be the best qualities one should have to become a successful Affiliate? What will increase one’s chances of squashing the competition and making it online?

      Dear Bev,

Thank you so much for a wonderful Feedback Comment, I am most grateful for it. 🙂 I am glad to hear that I simplified the process of what Affiliate Marketing is and how it works. 🙂

Yes, I have skills based on the wonderful training I was taught by a great Wealthy Affiliate Coach and Mentor. 🙂 I couldn’t have said that better myself, Wealthy Affiliate is just like a University. Except you study everything you need to know about creating a Website online. 🙂

I wish I had known about Wealthy Affiliate long before I even entered into College and graduated from there. 🙁

Indeed, quite true, before coming to Wealthy Affiliate, I kept thinking to myself that Website Building must be an impossible thing to do considering you may need to learn the coding behind it all. However, I was proven wrong with that assumption and was shocked to see I created a Website in 30 Seconds flat. Of course I had to write the Content on it soon after though, that is a given. 🙂

The Best Qualities of a Successful Affiliate Marketeer according to me would be:

      1) Willingness to learn and be trained to serve others.

      2) Self-Determined Independent attitude.

      3) Think “outside the box.” Display your own unique method of thinking pattern.

      4) Perseverance. Disciplined to dedicate yourself to organizing a schedule where no distractions can keep you away from the task of posting Content and working from home.

      5) Be an optimist and not a pessimist. Never let anyone tell you that you won’t succeed online to make money. Always ensure yourself of having various Plans of Action A-Z.

To beat out the Competition and make it to the Top on the 1st Page of Google Search Results would be to use the Internet Marketer’s Secret Weapon. The Keyword Tool that gets you ahead of the race to getting your Content more recognized.

I hope that I have answered your questions well. 🙂

Hi there! Affiliate marketing is really promising in terms of the earning potential. However, i heard that it takes some time before you can earn your first dollar. Is this true? Because I am really getting impatient with this business. Can you give me some tips. Thank you very much for your response!

      Dear John Rico,

Yes, that is quite true. Success does not happen overnight. It is a process that is built on based on the actions you do. Plus, depending on the Niche aka Topic of Interest and the way in which the Content is written can also determine how soon or later you will earn your first dollar as well. Other factors that may delay you getting that first dollar is no one visits your Website or you are not advertising it well enough for it to get noticed and draw some attention in.

      Patience is a virtue.

The Tips I can offer are:

      1) Write a bit of New Blog Posts every now and then while you have time.

      2) Allow a new set of eyes to look at your Content via FB Groups or other Social Groups.

      3) Update your Blog Post a bit more in terms of writing with Intent or a Call to Action.

Welcome, no problem. 🙂 I hope that this helped answer your question. 🙂

    Angel,

I found this post to be extremely helpful. I believe the Internet provides us which such huge opportunities nowadays and this whole affiliate marking sounds like such a great opportunity. I think my biggest fear is that I am not computer savvy and I am assuming to promote products from Target, Wal Mart, or Best Buy you need to create a webpage. Now I understand you provide us with two options to create a website, how is the training at Wealthy Affiliate? Is it worth trying it?

      Dear Juan,

Wow, thank you so much for reading through this Blog Post Article of mine and leaving me such a great Feedback Comment. 🙂

Jobs these days require many qualifications, level of education, internship hours, community service, resume, interview, and worst yet is minimal pay for so many hours of doing something else for someone else.

Affiliate Marketing, no one cares if you have an education degree or not, they care about someone who has a Website made, can promote their product, and earn a commission.
It is fun and rewarding when one writes as much info as needed to establish the Website firmly in place to get money rolling in like anything.

Being an Affiliate Marketeer is promising.
Do not need to go on an interview or have certain specific qualifications considered.
Just need to know someone who will guide you is all.

I was not that computer saavy myself when it came to building this Website you see before you now, however with the Training and Support I could only have through being in Wealthy Affiliate, it has really been worth more than I could have asked for. And that is saying a ton since they taught me the very skills I needed to succeed throughout my progress with their Lessons. When I graduated from College, I had no idea what I wanted to do next, most of what I learned seemed to vanish quickly. However, as I review my material through WA daily, it stays fresh no matter what.

You can use the skills you learn here to:

      (1) Create a business for yourself (many ways to do this)
      (2) Help existing business create more business
      (3) Offer more value to an existing company you work for
      (4) Get Internet related jobs
      (5) Freelance with the skills you learn

This is real. These are valuable skills. And you are an “educated” person because of them.

The stigma of having to attend a college or university to be an educated person is soon going to dissipate. Education is great, don’t get me wrong but there are many ways to educate yourself and just because your education does not cost a lot of money (like WA) shouldn’t make you feel as though carries less value. Your education platform and community should cost less than $1 per day and we are going to continue making this a reality. Technology says so!

People pay for skills, not a piece of paper.

Awesome post here. I would like to know about more affiliate programs that are easy to sign up, like paydotcom.com is very easy or payspree is super flexible too. I tried to sign up on flexoffers and they want payment proof about my website and my site is just getting started. overall thank you so much for your post and I will look forward for your reply

      Dear Javier,

Thank you so much for your Feedback. 🙂 I really appreciate it. 😀

I have not heard of PayDotCom or Payspree before, have yet to see how the application process goes through with them and perhaps write a Blog Post concerning that subject matter in the future. Different Affiliate Marketing Networks work for various people. What may work for one person may not work for all. I am sorry to hear the trouble you faced with FlexOffers. 🙁
I hope that PayDotCom and PaySpree gave you succcessful entry into their Network and seeing through their directory of what products you would like to promote on your Website. 🙂

I know there are many Affiliate Programs and Affiliate Marketing Networks out there that are worth a thorough Investigation with, but FlexOffers was easy for me to get into somehow. I believe FlexOffers looks into how many Posts you have, whether you are getting Social Engagement with your Blog Posts, and some other qualifications which I may not be aware of that they look for.

That is rather odd, why would they request Payment Proof right away if you just briefly started. Were you by chance going through Setting Up a Publisher Account through FlexOffers rather than an Advertiser? There is a difference between them. Did my walkthrough Steps on setting up a Publisher Account with FlexOffers help? I have provided Screenshots of the process I went through to get accepted in.

Welcome, no problem. 🙂 I am glad to help. 🙂

Hello Angel, having looked at your site I find a couple of things that puzzle me and I have to ask, Why do this?

You have a Navigation on your Sidebar which is just a copy of your menu so why have it there?

You also have a line or list of keywords/phrases below your headline which when clicked take the visitor straight back to your home page.

Why have this there or is it for SEO?

I also believe your pics/images are much too big and are likely to affect your sites download speed, especially for mobile devices.

My last observation is that your site isn’t protected and this means anyone who has a mind to can copy/paste any and all text and if they have an Article Spinner can then use your article for their own use.

The same goes for your pics and images.

It is a very nice site and and except for those little things I’ve mentioned should do well.

    have a nice day.

      Dear Robert Allan,

Thank you so much for your Feedback, I really appreciate it. 🙂

Several Websites I have run into put the Navigation in the Sidebar when their Top Menu was not a Sticky Navigation Menu. My Theme allows that Option so that no matter what Page or Post you visit and while Scrolling Down, the Top Navigation Menu is always in sight so that way it prevents people from having to Scroll Up again. Others put it in their Right-Hand Sidebar to give a better user-friendly experience so that visitors can Scroll just Half Way upwards to reach the Navigation Menu while reading a Page or Post if by chance they need to go elsewhere for information they seek to find an answer to.

Yes, you are right in saying that the Tags I have underneath the Headline are Keywords and this is for SEO purposes. Those Tags represent Keywords that have low competition which are related to my overall Blog Post Article. While I do not focus on mentioning them all in my Blog Post Article, as these are relevant Keywords, it can help with the rankings a bit too.

It makes sense, because Google is trying to provide relevant content to the people that search. A tag page with multiple relevant blog posts listed on it will be helpful to people searching for that keyword.

You can see why WordPress is excellent for SEO.

What I do is I have the main keyword plus 4 or 5 related keywords. If they are very low competition, it’s possible to get you tag pages to rank on page 1 of Google. This is what happens for my own website.

I am still trying to figure out how to downsize most of my images for better download speed loads on my Website. Especially regarding if my Content is being viewed in mobile devices. However, I have found that ZenCache Plugin helps immensely with my Website loading speeds.

Hmm, I would like you to refer to my Blog Post, Basic Blogging Don’ts. In here, I mention why it is really not necessary for my Content or Images to be protected.

As tempting as it might be to grab a hold of WordPress Plugins like Content Copy Protection & Prevent Image Save, WP Content Copy Protection & No Right Click, or even WP Content Copy Protection, it is not necessary to have these Plugins on your Website at all in the hopes your Content will be kept safe from Plagiarizing Thieves.

Besides, I think blocking Content in a way may upset the Audience too. Suppose a Commenter wants to Copy/Paste a portion of what they liked about our Blog Post, we should be courteous to let them right? They could say something like: “Quote” I really liked this Quote you had, it helped uplift my lack of motivation greatly. Thanks. Plus, I think it makes for better user-experience too.

Don’t block people from Copying your Content. This can also block Search Engines and that Websites that block the highlighting of Content and copying of it always lead to lower rankings.

I hope that I have helped clarify the answers to your questions better for you now. 🙂

Please feel free to drop by again sometime. ^_^

Wishing you all the best with your online success above and beyond the horizon,
